FURNITURE vs HUMIDITY

Wood is a material of plant origin, widely used in furniture design; There are various types of wood, soft, hard, resinous, fine, pragglomerated among others. Wood is a renewable product, with endless functions. However, we must not forget that this material requires special maintenance and treatment so that it can be preserved over the years; otherwise, it could become vulnerable to inclement weather and various factors such as humidity.

It is necessary to highlight the sensitivity that wood has with respect to water. In the winter season, a large part of the furniture remains outdoors, receiving continuous and abundant humidity that causes damage to the wood of the furniture in different ways. An environment with excessive humidity can dangerously ruin the wood, even taking it to the point of rotting. Condensation plays another important role in the deterioration of wood. The vapor that is naturally in the environment or that we produce with our daily activities, seeps through the pores of the wood, becoming humidity.
